Reading depth, measured on the article

On a news site, the article often takes up only half the page. Measured on the whole page, a complete read stopped at 25 or 50 % depending on the template, and completion turned red for a layout reason.

The tag now measures reading between the first and the last paragraph of the article. It finds it on its own on common templates. Otherwise, the “Article body” card in the Analytics settings lets you point at it with one click on a page of your site, and tells you on what share of views the measurement found it. The thresholds and the score do not change: 100 % simply becomes reachable.

Wikimedia Commons in the Médiathèque

Wikimedia Commons joins Unsplash, Pixabay, Openverse and Pexels. Everything there is usable commercially and modifiable, with no licence filter to tick. The showcase shows the featured pictures of the moment, a filter narrows a search to featured or quality images, and the caption carries the author and the credit.

An alt text that starts from the article’s title

An image added from an article takes its title as the default alt text, to adjust if needed. An image from a bank no longer reuses the bank’s description, often a file name or an English sentence.
